Leon Goretzka and Tolisso were also on the scoresheet in the thumping 4-0 win against Atletico at Allianz Arena
Bayern Munich have begun their title defence with a thumping 4-0 against Atletico Madrid in their Champions League group stage game at Allianz Arena.
Atletico had a fair share of chances in the first half, with Luiz Suarez hitting his shot wide off the post and Yannick Carrasco finding the hands of Manuel Neuer.
However, Bayern drew first blood after Kingsley Coman found the nets shortly before the half-hour mark. The French winger latched onto Joshua Kimmich’s long ball and then controlled it with a fine first touch before sending it past Jan Oblak.
The French winger went on to assist for Leon Goretzka’s goal right before the half time break.
The visitors had a great chance to pull one back in the second half but Carrasco made a mess of it. Joao Felix started a promising counter from Bayern’s half and laid off a pass to Carrasco, who then fired his shot wide.
Bayern turned the game in their favour after Corentin Tolisso scored a screamer long way off the penalty box. They put the game to bed once and for all after Coman completed his double for the night, this time assisted by Thomas Muller.
Diego Simeone’s side stood no chance against the ruthless attack of Bayern although they are known as one of the best defensive teams in Europe.
Bayern Munich defeated Atletico Madrid 4-0 without Serge Gnabry or Leroy Sane.
Bayern Munich are unbeaten in 12 consecutive #UCL games in a row winning all 12
