Dynamo Kiev

Group E bottom side Dynamo Kyiv will welcome group leaders Bayern Munich to the capital of Ukraine looking for their first win in the competition.

A 6-1 victory at the weekend pushed the hosts to the top of the Ukrainian Premier League by goal difference (W12, D2, L1) but in the Champions League, they are bottom of their group with just one point. The 16-time Ukrainian champions have just one win in their last 10 Champions League games and are facing an uphill battle qualifying for even a Europa League spot.

Their poor position has resulted from a toothless attack that has failed to score in their four UCL matches this campaign (D1, L3) whilst they’ve mustered just nine shots on target, three less than Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski has managed on his own (12)!

Mircea Lucescu will be desperate for his side to get a win in this game and will take confidence in Bayern’s patchy form in recent times.

Possible Dynamo Kyiv starting line-ups

Georgiy Bushcan; Oleksandr Karavaev, Artem Shabanov, Vitaliy Mykolenko, Tomasz Kedziora; Serhiy Sydorchuk, Mykola Shaparenko; Vitaliy Buyalskiy, Viktor Tsygankov, Carlos de Pena; Ilia Shkurin

Injured: Denys Popov, Ibrahim Kargbo, Artem Besedin, Vladyslav Supriaga.

Doubtful: None

Suspended: None.

Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich booked their place in the knockout stages of this year’s UCL thanks to a 5-2 win against Benfica last time out.

The German giants have taken 12 points from four games in the group stages and are easily leading the stats for goals scored (17) and the least number of goals conceded (2) in the UCL this season.

It is no great surprise that Bayern are that good as they boast one of the best keepers of all time in Manuel Neuer who has now kept 50 clean sheets in 123 Champions League appearances, putting him fourth in the all-time stakes.

But despite their notoriety and quality, the Bavarians have shown some flashes of inconsistency and come into this tie on the back of a disappointing loss 2-1 to Augsburg in the Bundesliga.

However, they would be desperate to show their quality in this tie and prove that the Augsburg loss was a one-off event.

Possible Bayern Munich starting line-ups

Manuel Neuer, Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, Alphonso Davies; Joshua Kimmich, Leon Goretzka; Kingsley Coman, Thomas Muller, Leroy Sane; Robert Lewandowski.

Injured: Sven Ulreich

Doubtful: Josip Stanisic, Niklas Sule

Suspended: None.

Prediction

Dynamo Kyiv 1-5 Bayern Munich.
