Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich continued their impressive run of form on Tuesday night as they defeated Stuttgart 5-0 to keep their place at the top intact.

A hat-trick from Serge Gnabry and a brace from Robert Lewandowski gave the hosts their sixth consecutive win in all competitions. It also ensured that they extended their lead at the top to nine points, at least till Dortmund play their game.

With the season almost halfway through, Julian Nagelsmann’s side will look to continue their dominance of the league by winning this game.

They have won their last seven head-to-head meetings with Wolfsburg and will fancy their chances of making it eight this time.

Robert Lewandowski will also be looking to continue his hot scoring form which has seen him score 18 times in the league this season. The prolific Pole has scored 24 goals in 24 meetings against Wolfsburg and famously scored five against them in nine minutes three years ago.

Possible Bayern Munich starting line-ups

Manuel Neuer, Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Niklas Sule, Alphonso Davies, Corentin Tolisso, Marc Roca, Lorey Sane, Thomas Muller, Serge Gnabry, Robert Lewandowski.

Wolfsburg

Wolfsburg’s struggles continued on Tuesday as they lost 3-2 by FC Koln.

Florian Kohfeldt’s side scored the opening goal in the match in the eight-minute through Lukas Nmecha. But the visitors equalised shortly before the break through Anthony Modeste. After the break, Wout Weghorst restored Wolfsburg’s lead, but Mark Uth and Modeste ensured that ‘Die Wölfe’s’  wait for a win continues.

The loss extended a horrible run of form that has seen them lose seven of their last eight games. In that period, the visitors conceded 21 times, with all the matches seeing them concede at least two goals per game.

They travel to Munich with one of the worst defensive records in Europe top five leagues. All the stats are against them winning this tie while the form of Bayern makes it a talk task to take even a point from this fixture.

But with their chances of dropping into the relegation increasing with each loss, Kohfeldt’s side will want to give all they have to avoid another defeat. They are currently sitting in 11th place but are just six points ahead of Augsburg in the relegation playoff spot.

Possible Wolfsburg starting line-ups

Koen Casteels; Sebastiaan Bornauw, Maxence Lacroix, John Brooks; Ridle Baku, Maximilian Arnold, Josuha Guilavogui, Jerome Roussillon; Maximilian Philipp, Lukas Nmecha; Wout Weghorst.

Injured: William, Xaver Schlager, Admir Mehmedi, Bartosz Bialek
