La Liga champions have shown interest in Bernardo Silva.

Atletico Madrid have reportedly shown interest in Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva, who has been linked with an exit this summer.

The new La Liga title winners are planning for summer reinforcements and have identified the Portuguese star as a top target.

Silva has been linked with an exit from Etihad in recent weeks after reports emerged that the Portuguese could be one of the players whom City would look to sell this summer.

Los Rojiblancos also believe they can use their strong relationship with agent Jorge Mendes – who represents Silva – to lure the midfielder away from Man City.

In the recently concluded campaign, the former Monaco star wasn’t as impactful as he was in the previous seasons.

City have also identified Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish as an ideal replacement should Silva leave this summer.

However, it remains to be seen whether they can match Villa’s valuation for their skipper.

Atletico are looking to push the boundaries in the Champions League next term as they view Silva as a valuable addition.

Besides, Diego Simeone’s men are said to be keeping tabs on Udinese midfielder Rodrigo de Paul as they are still uncertain about the future of Saul Niguez amid interests from Manchester United and Bayern Munich.

Silva, 26, can provide the creative spark to Atletico, and he was also deployed as a false 9 often by Pep Guardiola last season.

Atletico have been so far linked with De Paul and Silva, with the former one likely to cost around £35m. The duo can be the missing link that has been stopping Colchoneros from getting their hands at the long-evading Champions League title.
