Bernardo Silva expects to leave Manchester City, Saul Niguez offered in exchange

Bernardo Silva-Mahrez-Manchester City

Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva is expecting to leave the club this summer, and Atletico Madrid have been linked with a move.

Apparently, the Spanish outfit are willing to offer Saul Niguez in a swap deal to the Premier League champions. Previously Saul was linked to Bundesliga champions.

Bernardo Silva reportedly wanted to leave the Premier League club last summer as well, and it will be interesting to see if he gets his wish this time around.

The Portuguese international has not been a regular starter for Pep Guardiola over the past year, and he needs to play regularly at this stage of his career.

Similarly, the Spanish midfielder has not been a key player for Diego Simeone over the past year, and he needs a change of scenery as well.

It will be interesting to see if the two clubs can pull off a swap deal involving Silva and Saul.

Both players are extremely talented, and they could prove to be quality signings for either side.

Manchester City could definitely use someone like Saul in their midfield next season. The Spaniard will add a defensive cover, drive and aggression at the centre of the park.

Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid could also use more creativity and flair in the final third, and Bernardo Silva would be an ideal addition for them.

The likes of Luis Suarez, Moussa Dembele and Joao Felix will certainly benefit from his arrival.

It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few weeks now.
