Aguero was not even on bench during Brighton loss

Manchester City were beaten 3-2 by Brighton in the Premier League earlier tonight.

Star striker Sergio Aguero will be disappointed with the way his team are playing in recent matches. City were beaten by Chelsea earlier this month, and they barely scraped a win against Newcastle.

The Argentine striker is set to leave the club this summer, and he will want to go out on a high.

Aguero was not in the squad for the Brighton game, and he could have made a big difference for the visitors earlier tonight.

There is just one Premier League game remaining in the season; it could be the last time the Argentine plays for Manchester City.

Guardiola’s message ahead of the Champions League final

Pep Guardiola has not ruled out the Argentine’s role in the Champions League final just yet, but he has warned that there will be no room for sentiment when the Premier League side takes on Chelsea on the 29th of May.

Aguero will be hoping to say goodbye in the last Premier League game of the season against Everton. Fortunately, it is a home game, and City will be able to welcome some of their fans back into the stadium. It has been a remarkable journey for Aguero in English football, and he has guided Manchester City to several trophies during his time at the club.

Guardiola said: “I have to take a decision which is the best to win that game, so I have to be. If Sergio is fit, he is going to help us, that is for sure; if he is going to help us score goals, he is going to play, but it’s the final of the Champions League. I have to make the decision that gives us the best chance of winning that game.”

Aguero has always maintained that he will stay at Manchester City until they win the Champions League, and this is a great opportunity for him to bow out after fulfilling his promise to the fans.

Meanwhile, the Manchester City manager has warned his side that the opposition will be tough in the Champions League final, and the players will have to perform a lot better.

He said: “On Sunday, with our people, we are going to lift the [Premier League] trophy. And after we are going to go for the final of the Champions League. I am concerned because this is the final of the Champions League because the opponent is so tough.”

It will be interesting to see whether Guardiola is prepared to give Aguero a chance to make his mark in the final of the Champions League later this month. For a player who has won several big games for City all on his own, this could be the ideal send-off.
