Atalanta picked up a 6-2 win over Brescia in Serie A yesterday.
Atalanta’s Mario Pasalic scored a hat trick to secure the three points for Gasperini’s side.
The home side are now unbeaten in 13 league games and they are six points behind the league leaders Juventus.
Atalanta have had a fantastic season so far and they will be looking to finish strongly. They could still have a memorable campaign in the Champions League, where they will face PSG in the next round.
It will be interesting to see if they can get to the semi finals of the competition with a win over the French outfit.
Yesterday’s score line is hardly a surprise for the fans. Atalanta have been scoring freely all season and they have now amassed 93 league goals so far this season.
Although their top scorer Luis Muriel did not start, the home team took the lead through Pasalic within two minutes. Brescia hit back minutes later with Ernesto Torregrossa but the hosts responded with waves of attack one after another.
They were 4-1 up within the half hour thanks to goals from Marten De Roon, Malinovskyi and Duvan Zapata.
Pasalic scored two more in the second half to complete his hattrick. He managed to score a brace against the same opposition back in November as well.
Nikolas Spalek scored a consolation goal for Brescia who are now expected to go down to Serie B next season.
