The PSG star had to be stretchered off during the Ligue 1 game against St Etienne.

PSG completed a 3-1 comeback win against St Etienne in Ligue 1 on Sunday afternoon.

Lionel Messi stole the show by providing the assists for all of Les Parisiens’ three goals.

The win has helped them extend their lead at the top of the league table by 12 points.

However, Neymar‘s ankle injury has overshadowed the Argentine’s heroics and PSG’s impressive comeback.

The Brazilian sustained what looked like a nasty ankle injury during the final minutes of the game.

The 29-year-old was in clear agony after twisting his ankle and in the end, he had to be stretchered off the field.

Les Parisiens’ manager Mauricio Pochettino commented after the win that Neymar’s extent of the injury would be only revealed on Monday.

Pochettino said (h/t Goal): “For the moment there is nothing to say. He felt pain from the twist of his ankle. Tomorrow, he will take exams and we will know a little more about his injury.”

Neymar also took to Instagram to tell his fans that he would come back stronger than expected.

The Brazilian star wrote on his Instagram: Neymar on Instagram: “Unfortunately, these setbacks are part of an athlete’s life. Now we have to pick up our heads and move on. I will come back better and stronger.”

Neymar has a long history of injuries but this looks more or less a serious one, which could rule him out for several weeks.
