The Premier League champions certainly have the finances to sign the Wolves defender and it’ll be interesting to see if they are willing to agree to the Molineux outfit’s demands in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will need to bring in an upgrade on the likes of Marcos Alonso as well and the Wolverhampton defender could prove to be a quality long-term acquisition.
The youngster has the potential to develop into a top-class left-back in the future and he could end up justifying the £45m outlay in the long run.
Both clubs would represent a massive step up from Wolves and it’ll be interesting to see where the defender ends up eventually.
Chelsea and Manchester City can offer him Champions League football next season, which could be a tempting option for the youngster.
Wolves will be hoping to hold onto the defender for as long as possible but they could be powerless to stop him from leaving if there are concrete offers on the table from the two Premier League giants.
