Manchester United have been linked with the Brighton defender Tariq Lamptey.

The 21-year-old Brighton defender has established himself as one of the most exciting young prospects in the Premier League, and it is no surprise that the top clubs are keen on securing his services.

According to a report from Daily Mail, Manchester United are looking to bring in upgrades on Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot.

Apparently, Brighton will demand a fee of around £40 million for the former Chelsea Academy graduate, and it remains to be seen whether the Red Devils are willing to fork out that kind of money for the youngster.

Manchester United reportedly value the player at £30 million, and it seems that they will have to raise their offer in order to convince Brighton to sell their prized prospect.

The 21-year-old is yet to reach his peak, and he is likely to improve immensely over the next few years under the management of a top-class coach like Ralf Rangnick.

Manchester United spent a considerable amount of money on Wan-Bissaka, but the former Crystal Palace defender has been quite mediocre since his move to Old Trafford.

The Manchester United right-back has done reasonably well defensively, but he has been quite poor going forward, and the Red Devils will need to bring in someone who is a much more balanced full back and can contribute in the final third.

Lamptey has shown that he can be a handful going forward, and he has the potential to develop into one of the best fullbacks in the league.

The Red Devils are unlikely to be the only club interested in signing the 21-year-old this summer, and it will be interesting to see where the player ends up eventually.
