Inter are looking to replace Lukaku with his former Manchester United teammate Anthony Martial.

Inter Milan are close to parting ways with star striker Romelu Lukaku for a reported fee worth £98m to Chelsea.

Now, the Italians are looking for the Belgian’s replacement and have reportedly identified Manchester United star, Anthony Martial.

According to reports, Inter are trying to sign the French striker on loan, but the red Devils prefer a permanent deal.

However, it has been added that Nerazzurri are ready to sign Martial on an initial season-long loan deal before making him permanent for £50m.

Serie A outfit are understood to be in a deep financial crisis and have placed several players on the chopping block – the reason for the departures of Achraf Hakimi to PSG. Now Lukaku is on the verge of completing his move to Chelsea.

In addition, Lautaro Martinez has caught the attention of Tottenham Hotspur, but Inter are not interested in selling him.

Elsewhere, Martial’s importance to the Red Devils withered last season due to injuries coupled with inconsistency.

In the meantime, Edinson Cavani has performed well in Martial’s absence and now, with the addition of Jadon Sancho, the French striker is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford.

Earlier it was reported that Man Utd were open to selling the 25-year-old, with Tottenham turning out to be a potential suitor. However, Spurs found his valuation and wage demands far-fetched.

Inter share a good relationship with the Red Devils due to the transfers of Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez, Ashley Young in the past. They are looking to take advantage of it by attempting to sign Martial.
