Declan Rice transfer boost

Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of the West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice as per the Sun

The 22-year-old has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the league, and he has been linked with the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United in the past.

However, the Hammers refused to sell the midfielder at the start of the season. Still, Manchester United are now hopeful of securing his services after the Londoners had a disappointing December in the Premier League.

Qualifying for the Champions League would have been a hammer blow for any club looking to sign West Ham players, and it is in the best interests of the Red Devils that the London club miss out on a top-four finish.

Declan Rice is an ambitious player who will be looking to play regular Champions League football, and he’s likely to move on at the end of the season if West Ham fail to secure Champions League football.

Manchester United are unlikely to be the only club vying for the England international. It will be interesting to see if they can fend off the competition from the other suitors and secure the midfielder services in the summer.

Dembele-Martial swap deal on the cards

Meanwhile, the Red Devils could be handed the opportunity to sign the Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.

According to a report from the Catalonian website ARA, the Spanish giants could look to let the Frenchman leave if he refuses to sign a new contract soon.

Dembele will be a free agent at the end of this season, and Barcelona are not keen on losing him on a free transfer.

According to the report, Barcelona are exploring ways with the Premier League club to send the Frenchman to Old Trafford and bring in Anthony Martial.

Martial has been linked with a move away from Manchester United after falling down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

A move to Barcelona would give him more game time, and the transfer would be the fresh start he needs right now.

A swap deal involving the two players could be ideal for both clubs, and it remains to be seen whether they can pull off the move before the January transfer window closes.
