Paul Scholes slams Paul Pogba for his poor display against Liverpool

Paul Pogba- Manchester United

The French midfield received a red card during Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of Manchester United.

Manchester United succumbed to a 5-0 defeat against Liverpool at Old Trafford, which extended their winless run to four games in the Premier League this season.

United were trailing by the scoreline 4-0 at halftime and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer called upon Paul Pogba after the break in the hope for a turnaround.

As it panned out, Pogba didn’t last longer than 15 minutes on the field as he saw a red card for his foul on Naby Keita.

The French midfielder’s dismissal also threw cold water on United’s chances of a come-back.

Former Red Devils midfielder Paul Scholes has taken a swipe at Pogba for a miserable cameo against Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Scholes said (h/t Manchester Evening News): “To say a disappointing day would be a complete understatement.

“Liverpool had too much quality. I don’t think it was a lack of effort from United; I think tactically they were set up in a way where this could happen, and unfortunately it did.

“Paul Pogba coming on, giving a goal away and then getting sent off for a ridiculous tackle sums up United’s day.”

Scholes had previously predicted that United can’t replicate a dramatic comeback against Liverpool as they did against Atalanta in the Champions League.

Reports are coming in hot that United are considering sacking manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer due to his inability to produce results consistently this season.

Former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte looks like the favourite to become the new manager should United part ways with Solskjaer.
