Ronaldo’s message to Manchester United teammates after confirming his transfer

Cristiano Ronaldo in action for Manchester United

The Portuguese ace sealed a sensational return to Old Trafford from Juventus last week.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s sensational return to Manchester United was one of the best moments in the summer transfer window.

The Portuguese ace was allegedly close to joining Man City after forcing out an exit from Juventus. However, there was a twist in the tale and Man Utd emerged as surprise suitors and eventually managed to pull off his signing.

According to a new report, Ronaldo’s first message to fellow Man Utd team-mates after confirming his transfer was “ we need to win the Premier League title.”

Man Utd have been chasing shadows for a long time as their last Premier League title dates back to the 2012/13 season.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s reign has been promising but the failure to win trophies has often put the Norwegian manager under scrutiny.

However, United underwent a spending spree in the summer window, buying in marquee signings like Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane to bolster the squad.

Ronaldo’s transfer was the icing on the cake as the Old Trafford faithful believe their trophy drought could be soon over with the Portuguese skipper in the squad.

The 36-year-old might have failed to win the Champions League during his three-year tenure at Juventus, but his form was never in doubt.

Ronaldo was the top-scorer of the Old Lady in all three seasons and also helped them win the Serie A titles in the 2018/19 and 2019/20 seasons. He is also looking in fine touch after breaking the record for most international goals by a player during the international break.

United have fancied their chances with Ronaldo’s acquisition but it remains to be seen whether the Portuguese can have a similar impact as he had during his first spell at Old Trafford.
