Tottenham Hotspur eyeing Sam Johnstone

Tottenham are looking to add more depth to their goalkeeping department and they have identified a move for the West Brom goalkeeper Sam Johnstone.

The Championship goalkeeper has been linked with a move to Manchester United as well but it appears that the Red Devils are not prepared to move for him this summer.

Tottenham could certainly use more depth in their goalkeeping department and Johnstone would be a quality long term replacement for Hugo Lloris.

The Frenchman is in the twilight years of his career and Spurs will need to bring in a quality alternative soon.

Johnstone will be desperate to play Premier League football and Tottenham might be able to offer him European football as well.

The chance to join the London club could be a tempting proposition for the goalkeeper and it remains to be seen whether the two clubs can agree on a fee this summer.

Pau Torres on Spurs’ radar

Meanwhile, Tottenham are looking to reinforce the defensive department as well and the Londoners have identified the Villarreal defender Pau Torres as a target.

The 25-year-old has been in exceptional form for the Spanish club and he has been linked with other Premier League clubs as well.

According to reports, the Spaniard could be available for a fee of around £45m this summer and it will be interesting to see if Tottenham are willing to pay that amount to secure his services.

Torres has the potential to develop into a top-class defender in the future and he could be the ideal partner for Cristian Romero at the heart of Tottenham’s defence.

Antonio Conte will have to improve his squad in order to challenge the likes of Manchester City and Liverpool next season and Torres could certainly improve the side considerably.
