The summer transfer window has slammed shut and several teams across Europe have spent millions of pounds in order to bring in the necessary reinforcements needed to challenge for trophies this season.
Here at Anytime football, we look at the top ten highest spenders across Europe this summer.
1. Arsenal – £149.04m
The Premier League giants have spent more than any other club across Europe this summer and Arsenal have signed a number of defenders to improve their back four.
The Gunners have invested in the midfield as well and they have decided to bring in a quality alternative to Bernd Leno.
Players signed: Ben White (£52.65m), Albert Lokonga (£15.75m), Martin Odegaard (£31.50m), Takehiro Tomiyasu (£16.74m), Aaron Ramsdale (£25.20m), Nuno Tavares (£7.20m).
2. Manchester United – £126.00m
The Red Devils have had an outstanding transfer window so far and they have signed three top-class players to improve their attack and defence.
In theory, Manchester United have a squad capable of winning the Premier League title this season and it will be interesting to see if they can go all the way in the league.
Players signed: Jadon Sancho (£76.50m), Raphael Varane (£36.00m), Cristiano Ronaldo (£13.50m), Tom Heaton (Free).
3. Chelsea – £108.00m
The Blues have signed just two players this summer and they managed to splash the entirety of their transfer budget on a proven goal scorer like Romelu Lukaku.
Saul Niguez joined Chelsea as well from Atletico Madrid on a loan deal.

4. Manchester City – £105.75m
The Premier League champions shattered their transfer record to sign Jack Grealish from Aston Villa this summer and they were keen on signing Harry Kane as well.
However, the failure to sign a left-back and a striker could prove to be an issue for Manchester City as the season progresses.

5. RB Leipzig – £96.86m
The German outfit were the highest spenders in the Bundesliga and RB Leipzig have managed to replace some of their start departures like Ibrahima Konate, Dayot Upamecano and Marcel Sabitzer reasonably well.

6. Aston Villa – £89.84m
The Premier League side have shown tremendous ambition in the transfer market since the arrival of their new owners and this summer was no different.
Despite the loss of Jack Grealish, Aston Villa managed to bring in quality attacking players like Danny Ings, Leon Bailey and Emiliano Buendia.

7. Roma – £87.98m
The Italian outfit appointed Jose Mourinho to bring back the glory days to the capital club and they have been quite active in the transfer market.
Roma compensated for the departure of Edin Dzeko by signing two quality strikers in Tammy Abraham and Shomurodov.
They have also improved their defence and goalkeeping positions.

8. Paris Saint Germain – £74.70m
The French outfit have probably had the best transfer window of all clubs in Europe and PSG have managed to sign superstars like Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gianluigi Donnarumma and Gini Wijnaldum on free transfers.
They also splashed out on the Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi and the Portuguese defender Danilo Pereira.

The French club lost star midfielder Eduardo Camavinga to Real Madrid on deadline day but Rennes have managed to bring in quite a few reinforcements to add more depth and quality to their squad.

10. West Ham United – £67.05m
The Hammers had an excellent season last year and they managed to secure European qualification.
David Moyes needed to add more quality and depth to his side and West Ham have done so with the signings of Kurt Zouma, Alphonse Areola and Nikola Vlasic.
