Liverpool Update: Latest on Aston Villa clash, Sergio Ramos links and Naby Keita injury

Klopp confirms Liverpool departure date

Liverpool are thought to be keen on signing the Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos as a free agent.

The 34-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season and Liverpool could certainly use an experienced a defender like him.

The Reds are currently going through an injury crisis at the back and they are without Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip.

Ramos has plenty of experience of winning trophies with club and country. He would add a leadership presence to the Liverpool dressing room as well.

Meanwhile, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided an update on midfielder Naby Keita.

The Guinean is recovering from his injury right now and he is expected to return to action soon.

The midfielder will not be able to play the game against Aston Villa tomorrow but he should be fit and ready for the upcoming matches.

That said, the Aston Villa match could be postponed after a significant coronavirus outbreak at the Midlands club.

It will be interesting to see what the FA decide. Aston Villa could be forced to play their under 23 squad against Liverpool if the authorities decide that the game will go on.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed his delight with the way Takumi Minamino has adapted to life at Anfield.

The Japanese international signed for the Reds last year but he has failed to establish himself as a regular starter so far.

In other news, talks between Gini Wijnaldum and Liverpool regarding a contract extension have now reached a stalemate.

It seems both parties are not able to agree on the financial conditions of the extension and it remains to be seen how the situation unfolds over the coming months.
