Tottenham Hotspur are thought to be closing in on appointing a long term successor to Jose Mourinho.

According to reports, the Premier League club are now in advanced talks with the former Inter Milan manager Antonio Conte.

Apparently, the two parties are discussing a long term contract and the details of the project at the London club.

Former Juventus director of football Fabio Paratici is expected to join the club along with Conte as well. An official bid has been made to the former Juventus director, and he is set to decide his future soon.

It is believed that Conte is speaking to Tottenham about the potential new signings, and he will demand that the club hold on to Harry Kane this summer.

The England international has been linked with a move away from the London club, and it will be interesting to see if the Daniel Levy can convince him to give them another year.

Back in 2017, Conte revealed his admiration for Kane in an interview.

He said: “For me, Kane, now, is one of the best strikers in the world. If I had to buy one striker, I would go to Kane. He is a complete striker.

“He is strong physically, with the ball, without the ball, he fights, and he’s strong in the air and acrobatic on the right and the left. He’s a complete player. He’s one of the top strikers in the world. If you go to buy Kane now, it would be at least £100m. At least. For me, if I see this price for a striker, I know for sure he’s a big striker.”

Antonio Conte is a proven winner, and he could help the London club end their trophy drought next year. He has managed the Premier League team like Chelsea before, and he managed to win the tournament as well.

A manager of his calibre and stature is exactly what Tottenham need right now, and the fans will certainly be excited if they can pull off the appointment in the coming weeks.
