Manchester United do not intend to sell Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to reports.

The Portuguese superstar had been linked with a move away from Old Trafford this summer, but his club fully expect him to be with them for next Premier League season.

The 37-year-old was reported to be frustrated at United’s lack of progress, and his agent Jorge Mendes was reported to have met clubs such as Chelsea and Bayern Munich over the past week to test the demand in the market.

But according to Sportsmail, United are planning to play with Ronaldo next season, with new boss Erik Ten Hag, a big admirer of the striker.

Erik Ten Hag wants to play an attacking style and sees Ronaldo playing a pivotal role despite the fact he is looking to bring in another striker and lower the age of the squad.

The five-time Balon d’Or winner still cares deeply about Manchester United and wants it to take bigger and quicker strides forward.

Ronaldo scored 24 goals last season and, despite his age, is still going strong. Although he has been criticised for being unable to sustain a pressing game, he still sets a high example to the surrounding players at United.

While Ronaldo’s agent has met with several clubs, Man United have made it clear that they are not interested in doing business. The Old Trafford side are focused on getting the number one target Frenkie de Jong from Barcelona.
