Newcastle plotting a January move for Adrien Rabiot

Newcastle United are eyeing a move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot in the January transfer window.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Magpies want to sign the French midfielder, whom the Bianconeri want to get off their books.

The Old Lady could sell the 26-year-old for a fee as low as £12.8m, with Newcastle ready to pounce on him.

The Magpies have been working on transfer targets since the takeover of the Saudi Arabian consortium PIF.

However, they could face competition from La Liga giants Real Madrid, who are also keen on signing Rabiot.

Carlo Ancelotti had previously worked with the French international at PSG and now wants a reunion at Santiago Bernabeu.

Rabiot moved to Turin from PSG on a free transfer in 2018 and has since made around 100 appearances for the Italian giants.

It remains to be seen whether Newcastle can fend off a European heavyweight like Madrid, who can offer Rabiot the Champions League football.

Henderson wants to leave Man Utd amid Newcastle interest

Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson could seek an exit at the end of this season should he continue to be second fiddle to David de Gea, reports the Daily Mail.

The English international has lost the first-team spot under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season, which has prevented his call-up to the national team.

Henderson wants regular game-time in Premier League, as he wants to secure a place in Gareth Southgate’s squad for the next year’s World Cup and he is now considering leaving Old Trafford to revive his career.

Newcastle have shown interest in the 24-year-old but a transfer in January is a less likely one.

Henderson did impress for the Red Devils last season however he tested positive for COVID-19 in July, which saw him miss the preseason.
